At OrthoSmile, our orthodontist team combine high educational credentials with exceptional rapport to make getting braces a pleasant experience. Our expertise includes all types of braces, including Invisalign braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces, clear braces, adult braces and combined orthodontic-orthognatic jaw surgery.
Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. One of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over 21. Due to the fact that growth is completed in adults rare cases may require orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery) to achieve ideal results. Adults also may have experienced some breakdown or loss of their teeth and bone that supports the teeth and may require periodontal treatment before, during, and/or after orthodontic treatment. Although bone loss experienced by some adults may limit the amount and direction of tooth movement, our orthodontist will work closely with your dentist to ensure that you receive the best results possible giving you not only a beautiful but healthier smile.
Ceramic Braces or Tooth Colored Braces are made of ceramic or composite materials. They are very strong and generally no stain. Adults like to choose ceramic because they "blend in" with the teeth and are less noticeable than metal.
We’re proud to offer Inspire ICE™, the highest quality aesthetic braces on the market. Their patented sapphire material makes Inspire ICE the only crystal-clear braces available. They’re not only discreet, they’re virtually invisible. They are also one of the only completely transparent brackets on the market. Inspire ICE also is one of the lowest profile ceramic bracket on the market, which means that it does not stick out as far as many other clear braces.
Another option is Clarity™ SL Self-Ligating Brackets incorporating SmartClip™ Self-Ligating System technology, are the only ceramic brackets that are passive self-ligating and feature an open slot, true twin edgewise design. You can feel confident that Clarity SL brackets will deliver difference-making advantages throughout every phase of treatment.
If you are concerned about the appearances of metal braces and you would like to look good during treatment, don’t hesitate to make your braces go invisible. Many people may not even be aware that you're wearing braces at all.
Invisalign® is a system that uses 3D modeling software and cutting-edge manufacturing technology to provide a clear, removable solution for straightening teeth. Invisalign® is effective at treating a wide variety of orthodontic issues including:
• Crowding • Spacing • Overbite; • Underbite • Deep bite • Open bite
Invisalign® is clear. You can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
Invisalign® is removable. Unlike braces, you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
Invisalign® is comfortable. No metal brackets or wires to cause mouth irritation, and no metal or wires means you spend less time in the doctor's chair getting adjustments.
A set of aligners are worn for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
You replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position the dentist has prescribed.
Will visit your dentist approximately once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
Total treatment time averages 11 months with the average number of aligners worn during treatment between 18 and 30. This of course will vary from case to case.
The aligners are made through a combination of our doctors' expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology provided by the Invisalign&rag; company.

Lingual (hidden) braces are, essentially, braces that are fixed to the inside of the teeth. They still use brackets and wires, but those brackets and wires are not visible to other people.
The Advantages of Lingual Braces
They work the same way as regular braces
They are better, cosmetically than regular braces
If food is caught in your braces, it does not show to other people (usually).
The Disadvantages of Lingual Braces
Lingual braces take longer to get used to. Your tongue will run into them a lot at first and it could cause quite a bit of discomfort. In addition to the possible discomfort, you will probably have a very strong lisp while your mouth gets used to talking around the wires and brackets.
Lingual braces are more expensive because the brackets are custom made for your teeth and an orthodontist needs to have extra training to be qualified enough to install them on a patient’s teeth. Special instrumentation, equipment, orthodontists and staff training are required for this technique. The treatment is more sophisticated and the personal time and training required by the orthodontists and their staff is considerably greater.
